Netflix Shows We've Binge Watched

We have decided to come up with a bumper list of Netflix series recommendations to bringe watch!

The Crown

My Mum and I LOVED watching the 3 seasons of The Crown. It's really interesting learning about the secrets of the Royal Family and is a bit of a history lesson in one too.

Glee

I have been waiting for literally 10 years to be able to watch the whole of Glee on Netflix, when I heard that it had come out on Netflix I was BUZZING! It follows the bitchiness in an American high school and also addresses lots of important topics, such as: sexuality; gender; bullying etc.

Gossip Girl

Possibly one of my favourite series of all time. I loved getting a deep insight into the world of the Upper East Side in New York!

Brooklyn NineNine

This series is a perfect American comedy about the 99th Precinct in Brooklyn (which is a part of the NYPD). The characters are fab and the intros rarely fail to make me laugh!

Atypical

A series following the teenage years of American boy, Sam, and his family. Deffo recommend, it follows various issues within society.

The Society

An interesting mystery series set in an American town where everyone else goes missing.

Modern Family

This American mockumentary is fairly new to Netflix, but is a fab addition. It's about Jay Pritchett and his grown-up children's families, who both have children of their own. I have to say Lily might have to be my favourite as she gets older, she is so witty which makes her really fun to watch.

Sex Education

I don't even know how to describe the setting of Sex Education, but it's in a high school environment and again tackles some serious topics within society. The whole 'Sex Education' name stems from Otis' Mum being a sex psychologist, so with the knowledge Otis has from his mother, he offers sex advice to his pupils.

Jane the Virgin

I've followed this Miami based series since season 1, which ended last year with its 5th season. The ending was so sweet, but OMG, along the whole journey there is a CRAZY amount of plot twists in the telenovela like series.

The Indian Matchmaker

This is new to me but I've really enjoyed it, Mum and I binged it a little bit ... that's a good sign, right?! It was really interesting to see how different cultures live their lives.

Friends

I'm not sure if we even need to include this- it feels like everyone's jumped on the Friends bandwagon lately!  Rightfully so as it's the official feel good show of the century. This programme screams cosy nights in at home and sticking it on Netflix when you're homesick at uni!

Anne With An E

This period drama is AMAZING, so heart-warming, yet is sad in places. Anne's imagination is fab, she may push things too far sometimes but she always has good intentions.

The Stranger

We watched this in basically one sitting, all 50 minute 8 episodes ... to say it was hooking is an understatement. It's sort of a mystery-crime series.

Hollywood

This show definitely kept me entertained during lockdown (although I wish there were more episodes!). It's set in the late 40s in America where Hollywood was making big changes in regards to cinema. The show tackles big issues: race, gender and homosexuality at that time, but in a really humorous and captivating way. It gave me the feeling of being on the Great Movie ride in Universal Studios!

The Big Bang Theory

This show has definitely been made fun of in recent years, but I cannot stress how feel good it is! Who doesn't love a show about hopeless romantic nerds trying to find their way through life?! This show honestly gives me such being sick from school and staying in cosy under a blanket eating junk food vibes. It is so funny, but also very heartwarming!

Thanks for reading!
